Recent rumors...

Recently there have been rumors circulating that there is a weapon in the school. These rumors, along with countless others of the same theme, have all been traced back to their source and are unfounded. There were rumors that there would be an act of violence at Friday Februrary 5ths Pep fest during seventh hour so for the safety of everyone Principal Sakala postponed the PepFest. Nothing happened on Friday. The IGHPD have been asked to increase their presence in the halls of Simley High. They are always walking around. They have taken these measures to keep students safe and it has worked. Personally, I like having the cops around. I don't know why but it's nice.

Simley High's 1st annual Talent Show

Yes, you read right. My school is having it's first Talent show. I can't say if its annual or not, since I don't know for sure yet. Alot of people have signed up. Including me. I will be playing Connie Talbot's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on my guitar. No singing included. I don't sing in public (Or in private for that matter.) I am getting pretty good at it. I just need to work on timing a little more. The show isn't until March 19th at 6:00 pm so I have a few weeks if that.

As you all probably know, I am taking guitar lessons with my old history teacher, Mr. Olson. I am learning Blues shuffles with just the different strings and frets, and with chords. I am also learning to solo with the blues. It is really fun actually.

End of First tri.

First trimester officially ended Thursday December 3rd. Finals went pretty good and I made the B honor roll again. I didnt do too well on the first part of my Algebra Final. Got a 9/13. History went better then I expected. I aced the chronology portion which I usually bomb. I bombed the map section and got a few of the Multiple choice wrong. I got 59% before the extra credit. The day before we had played Jeopardy to review for it and my team won. We had 6,000 points and the second place had 3,350 points so we won by a land slide so we each got 10 extra credit points on our tests. So after the extra credit points i had a 73% which is about a C+. I have a B- in that class. English I raised to a A-. Drawing I have an A and German I have an A. So about 4 A's and 3 B 's.

German is really fun! Or Deutsch machst spass. (German makes fun). For our final we had to give a dialogue in German where you partner up and write a script in German and go through it for the teacher. I got a 54 out of 52. Mainly because of the three points extra credit. In fact, for all of you interested in trying to figure some German out here ya go:
